Habitat
Cool coastal waters, sandy bays and rocky shores of the northern hemisphere.
Diet
Fish, squid, octopus and small crustaceans.
Size
About 1.4–1.9 metres long and 55–170 kg — chunky and streamlined.
Lifespan
Around 25–30 years in the wild.
